Charley Pride

Country music icon Charley Pride passed away today at the age of 86. Born 1934 in Sledge, Mississippi, Charley played baseball and served ten years in the US Army before becoming a country music superstar. Throughout his legendary career Pride racked up 52 top ten country hits, including 29 that made it all the way to number one. Plus, just last month the CMA honored him with the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. According to his publicist, the singer died from complications related to Covid-19.
