LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball team tallied its second-straight win and first road win of the season on Wednesday night, defeating Kansas, 75-65, at Allen Fieldhouse. It marks the program's first Big 12 win streak since 2017.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lady Raiders used a balanced offensive attack to knock off the Jayhawks, with six players scoring five or more points and four scoring in double figures. Sophomore Alexis Tucker finished one point off her season high with 17 points to go along with five rebounds and two steals.

Lexi Gordon scored 15 points—including seven in the fourth quarter—as well as four rebounds, an assist and a steal. Vivian Gray finished one rebound short of tallying her second-straight double-double and fifth of the year with 14 points and nine rebounds as well as a pair of assists. Naje Murray tallied her second-straight game in double figures, also leading the team in assists with four.

Texas Tech made the most of Kansas's 17 turnovers, scoring 27 points off the Jayhawk turns while limiting themselves to only 12. The Lady Raiders also scored 19 second chance points on 15 offensive rebounds.

It was a back-and-forth first half, as the teams combined for six ties and two lead changes in the first 20 minutes of action. It was the Lady Raiders who would head into the halftime locker room with the lead, however, forcing misses on six of the Jayhawks' last seven shot attempts of the second period to push their lead to 32-28 at the break.

The Lady Raiders forced 11 Kansas turnovers in the first half, compared to only six of their own which proved to be significant as both teams shot in the mid-30's percentage-wise over the first and second quarters.

After Kansas outscored the Lady Raiders, 22-18, in the third quarter, the two teams went into the fourth quarter tied up at 50 apiece.

The game turned as the Lady Raiders ran off a 10-0 run midway through the final quarter, spurred by Tucker, Gray, Gordon and Jackson. The run stretched their lead to 10 with under three minutes to play and would essentially put the game out of reach for the Jayhawks.
