The Red Raiders make their way to Boulder for the Buffs Invitational to take on Colorado and San Jose State Sept. 10-11.
Tech opens the tournament against the host team, facing Colorado at 11 a.m. on Friday. The match will air on Pac 12 Network Insider. The Red Raiders play San Jose State at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
RED RAIDER QUICK HITS
- Tech swept previously unbeaten Northern Colorado Wednesday night in Greeley to start off the Colorado road trip. Tech was firing offensively, hitting .337 as a squad and recording a season-high seven aces. The Red Raiders added 11 blocks for the fifth double-digit block performance of the season. Four of Tech's blocks came from Caitlin Dugan who tallied three solo blocks and one block assist.
- KJ Adams was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week Sept. 7 after tallying 65 digs over four matches averaging 5.0 digs per set. The transfer tallied a season-high 23 digs against Texas State before matching her season-high against Rhode Island, averaging 7.67 digs per set against the Rams. Adams sits at second in the conference in digs per set with 4.37.
- Texas Tech takes on its former Big 12 foe Colorado for the 32nd time overall but the first time since Tony Graystone's first season in 2016, six years after the Buffs left the conference. Colorado has won 26 of the 31 meetings against Tech including the matchup in 2016. The last Red Raider win over the Buffs came in 2010 in Boulder when the two teams met for the final time as conference opponents.
- The Red Raiders have faced the Spartans three times, last meeting in 2012 when Tech swept San Jose State in Lubbock. San Jose State has won two of the three previous meetings.
